Yay!!

I'm stuck in the waiting game, I got an e-mail re-iterating that the woman's going on vacation and won't be back until the 29th, so I won't hear anything from them "and I didn't want you to panic just because of that. Hold tight, and I'll be back in touch when I return."

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it seems positive that they're insisting they'll contact me. This next week is going to be excruciating!

I have known for a few months where I'm working next year -- same place I worked last year, which is just fine with me. But that's, again, only a one-year-renewal of a job, which means I'm back on the academic job market starting in September.

I just got asked to apply for one of the upcoming jobs in my subfield, so at least that's a positive sign. But I am so very sick of the academic job market.

Ooof, I don't blame you, that sounds rough, having to go a year at a time. :/ I'm tired just being at a job and knowing that I can't let myself get complacent because I want something better, but at least that's my own choice. Hope you luck out come September!
